Women's Rights. Equality of the Sexes. Sexual freedom. Trafficking and Exploitation.
Women got the vote. They have political representation and hold public office. They've achieved social and educational equality. They can aspire to be and do anything they want.
These original successes of the Feminist Movement granted women equality in the eyes of society, but today women are still unhappy, objectified, sold, discriminated against, and lied to for profit. We hear the world saying that the solution to these lingering problems is to make women more like men by denying all the unique elements of womanhood.
But we think there is more to the story. As women, we know that we have more to offer the world than simply an imitation of men. But we wonder where our place is within society, our families, and the Church.
Pope Saint John Paul II said, "In transforming culture so that it supports life, women occupy a place, in thought and action, which is unique and decisive. It depends on them to promote a 'new feminism' which rejects the temptation of imitating models of 'male domination', in order to acknowledge and affirm the true genius of women in every aspect of the life of society, and overcome all discrimination, violence and exploitation." (Evangelium Vitae)
What is this powerful 'true genius of women' that seems to have been overlooked by the Feminist Movement? How do we, specifically as young women in college, rise to the call of the 'New Feminism' which John Paul II promotes?
Please join us at our 6th Annual Genuine Feminine Conference as we hear invited speakers address these questions, and discuss together how we, as women, can help create a New Feminism to heal our world today.
