The Big Lie of the Hookup Culture and How It's Keeping Us From Finding True Love

04/14/2016 09:00 PM ET

University of Pittsburgh

The Hookup Culture would have us believe that casual sex comes without consequence, that less commitment makes things less complicated, and that sex keeps a man’s attention. These are all lies that many of us discover the hard way in college. But the biggest, most damaging lie of the hookup culture still lurks beneath the surface of our lives and continues to wreak havoc on our dating and even married relationships, long after our hookup days are through. Think that “not participating” in the hookup culture makes you immune? Think again.

Join Pitt Off the Hook as Monica Gabriel, Relationship Editor of Verily Magazine and former advertiser of TIME magazine, presents us with how the hookup culture has impacted how we date and what we can do to create a new dating script.

When: Thursday, April 14th, 2016
Where: O'Hara Student Center Ballroom
